FARM NOTES:
Joy has some absolutely amazing milking lines behind her, and the potential here is incredible. Joy's dam, Summer Love, was 1st place in her yearling class at the 2011 ADGA National Show. In her first freshening she milked 520 and earned Superior Genetics status. She ranks in the 83 percentile for milk production. Her father, Uproar, sired GCH Chenango Hills Godess, the 2012 top producing doe in both butterfat and production. Uproar's dam, ARMCH Uni, was also a Superior Genetics doe. She ranked in the 92nd percentile and produced 1490lbs on her 7th freshening!
Joy freshened in late Feb. 2016. We always try to let our does raise their kids, but after being let out with them for the first time she, I guess, decided being a mom wasn't for her and stopped wanting to feed them. Oh well, c'est la vie . She's an absolute dream to milk. Such amazing stand manners, and the milk just comes right out. She has the softest texture of any of our does coupled with a ton of capacity. As of March 6th, 2016 she's easily milking 4lbs a day, and is truly just a dream to own. Getting down to the structure though, I love the nice deep medial, capacity, and depth of her udder, but I do wish it was higher and that the teats were pointed just a tad more down. As for the height though, her breeder tells me her grandmother, Deviant Seven, did have a slightly low attachment her first freshening which is why NC Promisedland sold her, but it got much higher her next freshening. Joy won't be going anywhere, so we'll see how it develops through her lactation, and what it looks like next year!
